BetterMeet is a browser extension that adds per-participant volume, “mute for me” and a full screen view for screen shares to Google Meet. This policy explains what the extension handles and what it does with it.
BetterMeet has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing it handles is sent anywhere. Everything stays in your browser, on your device.
BetterMeet uses the browser’s local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) to keep:
This data is never transmitted to the developer or to any third party. You can review and forget saved volumes from the extension popup, and uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
BetterMeet runs only on meet.google.com. To change the volume of each person, it processes the call’s incoming audio inside your browser, in real time. Audio and video are never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. The extension reads participant names from the Meet page only to match voices to people and to restore your saved volumes.
BetterMeet does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information, including your name, email address, contacts, messages, meeting content, browsing history, location or usage statistics.
The popup can copy the self-test report to your clipboard so you can send it with a bug report. It only leaves your device if you paste and send it yourself. The report describes the call’s audio setup and does not include audio or meeting content.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date above.
Questions can be sent through the issues page of this repository or to contact@trackr.fm.
